She plays a 14-year-old student. He is her older soccer coach. The plot is already thick with debauchery and we just can't wait to see it unfold.

Hollywood sweetheart Emma Roberts continues to shake off her teen starlet image in the risque new film Palo Alto. Nancy Drew no longer!

Following on from her role as a juvenile delinquent starring alongside Jennifer Aniston in We're The Millers, Julia Roberts' cute niece is taking on tougher characters these days. It looks like this "bad girl" streak has transcended into real life too. The 22-year-old was arrested in July over an alleged domestic violence dispute with her boyfriend. Yikes!

In Palo Alto Emma plays a suburban teen seduced by an older man, played by James Franco , and based on his collection of short stories.

The film, which premiered over the weekend at Colorado's Telluride Film Festival, centres around the turbulent lives of teenagers in the privileged Palo Alto area of California, which happens to be Franco's hometown.

"In every town, there are girls looking for love. There are boys looking for trouble. There are men looking for both," the brand new trailer ominously underlines.

We're psyched to see this angsty drama unfold, especially with Gia Coppola at the helm as writer/director. Hailing from cinematic royalty, her aunt Sofia is all too familiar with the genre, having just released acclaimed teen drama The Bling Ring.

Alongside Franco and Roberts stars Val Kilmer and his son Jack as well as Pretty Little Liars' Keegan Allen.

Unfortunately, we might have to wait a little longer to see this flick. It is yet to get a general release date.

In the meantime, here are some photos of James and his sexy Hollywood friends to drool over.
