Poor Cheryl Cole.
In her first TV appearance since being unceremoniously dumped as an X Factor USA judge by Simon Cowell last year, the 28-year-old ex-Girls Aloud pop diva has been accused of lip-synching after promising she'd sing live on The Voice UK.
Cheryl's high-energy performance of new single 'Call My Name' began with a gasp-inducing three-metre jump off a podium into the arms of a hunky troupe of dancers.
A source at the live taping claimed "it would have been hard for Cheryl to have sung through the whole performance it was such an energetic dance routine. But I'm sure people will be disappointed if they expected her to sing throughout."
Fans erupted on Twitter, calling it "blatant lip-synching", one pointing out the "irony she's performing on a show that promotes real talent".
Cheryl's publicist insisted that she "sang live with a backing track".
Voice judges Jessie J, Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue gave her a standing ovation. Danny, of band The Script, last week warned Cheryl, "you can't come on The Voice and mime. I won't be clapping if you do".
