Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler would love to have you believe they called it quits on American Idol, but a new report suggests both stars were ditched from the show.
Hollywood trade paper The Wrap claims J.Lo's $17 million price tag to judge the next season of Idol was thrown out the window, with the star "surprised" not to receive a counteroffer from Fox.
Aerosmith frontman Steven wasn't given a chance to return, and Randy Jackson's future on the show is said to be "uncertain."
Rumour has it Fox execs are looking to revamp the series in an attempt to rescue it from a ratings slump.
And with legendary singer Aretha Franklin coming forward to offer her services, they may have just found their new star attraction.
"Yes I am interested as a judge," the 70-year-old Queen of Soul told Reuters.
According to reports, Mariah Carey and Kanye West are also being considered as judges on the show.
