American Pie actor Jason Biggs is trying to break the typecast mould with a new voice role in Nickelodeon's upcoming animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV remake but not everyone's taking to this hero in a half-shell.
A US family group has blasted Nickelodeon over the decision to cast the 34-year-old actor as blue-masked Leonardo.
"How is it possible that Nickelodeon, a network for kids, is headlining an actor best known for having sex with a pie?" said Dan Gainor from the conservative Culture and Media Institute.
Now that's selling Jason's career short. He also had an unfortunate incident with superglue while pleasuring himself in American Pie 2, and went completely full frontal in the recent American Reunion.
But it's Jason's Twitter account that really has the family group seething.
In late August, the actor made sexual jibes about American Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wife Ann Romney and vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan's wife Janna Ryan.
His comments were fed to Nickelodeon's website.
"But after Biggs caught flak for his awful, misogynistic comments on Twitter, he continues to act like a foul-mouthed scumbag," Gainor told Radar Online.
"Biggs used the F-bomb both on a British TV show and re-tweeted it on Twitter, talked about being aroused in his famous pie scene, fingered other pies provocatively and made a series of other inappropriate comments."
We couldn't imagine anything worse or can we?
In response to Paris Hilton's leaked taxi rant about gay men last week, Jason tweeted, "Gay men are disgusting! Exclaimed Paris Hilton as she autographed copies of her sex tape in an e-------- soaked tank top."
Nickelodeon quickly issued a statement saying they do "not support or condone the use of graphic or vulgar language on any of our platforms".
"It was our mistake to link from our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Twitter feed to Jason’s personal twitter account, and we quickly corrected our error," the statement read.
"We also insisted Jason use better judgment and discretion in public communications while affiliated with our brand."
Jason's wife, Playboy blogger "Feisty Jenny" Mollen, has also come under fire for her raunchy revelations about their sex life. One anecdote involved Jenny hiring her husband a prostitute and commenting that his Teen Choice award nomination meant "tons of eighth grader p-----".
"What message are Nickelodeon and its advertisers sending families by dealing with these freaks?" Gainor went on.
The rightwing critic called for Jason to be replaced on the show.
