The Collective’s debut single on X Factor: One Direction knock-off or their own direction?

Did somebody just clone One Direction?

Because X Factor Australia finalists The Collective sounded eerily similar to the British boy-band when they performed what could be their winners’ single, 'Surrender', on last night’s show.

"There's nothing out there in the charts like this," said X Factor judge and Collective mentor Ronan Keating. "I believe it's a smash."

Except for, say, One Direction’s hit single 'Live While We're Young'.

From the moment they sing "Move like a butterfly, butterfly", it sounds remarkably similar to the line "You drive me crazy, crazy crazy".

The boys go on to sing "I surrender" in the chorus, echoing 1D's “And live while we're young".
