Country singer LeAnn Rimes has sparked online chatter about whether or not she was "out of it" during a bizarre performance on The X Factor USA.
LeAnn, 30, sang her hit 'How Do I Live' with 13-year-old finalist Carly Rose Sonenclar on the pre-finale live show on Wednesday night.
While LeAnn belted in perfect pitch, her slurry diction and shaky stance made for cringe-worthy viewing indeed. Watch above, and decide for yourself: Was she drunk?
At some points she clutched her young singing partner and sang out of time with the music.
"There's no way she's sober in this clip," one TMZ reader said.
Carly Rose's mentor Britney Spears did not look amused her facial expression says it all.
LeAnn has since responded on Twitter to the awkward on-stage moment.
"In my 18 years of performing, I have never been anything but professional on stage," LeAnn wrote.
"And while I have not given any media outlet a quote, if you want one, here it is: 'It was an amazing opportunity to share this experience with Carly and I know I’ll be watching for her to win tonight'."
LeAnn's lawyer told TMZ that she "was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was on stage with a young girl".
LeAnn maintained that she was not drunk, explaining to TMZ that she was only trying to help Carly Rose, "who was having some trouble with the song".
LeAnn checked into rehab back in August for "anxiety and stress". Last week, she broke down in a TV interview when talking about her affair with now-husband Eddie Cibrian when both were married to other people in 2009.
