Yes, it's true: Demi Harman is the latest Home and Away star to be bitten by the Hollywood bug.
The 21-year-old has officially left the popular Aussie soap after three-and-a-half years playing troubled teen Sasha Bezmel.
Demi filmed her final scenes on October 10, but the episodes will only air towards the middle of next year, the Daily Telegraph reports.
"Leading up to finishing was so traumatic, it was so scary," Demi told the newspaper. "I was crying the whole time."
So what does this mean for her blossoming off-screen relationship with co-star Alec Snow? Not much, according to Demi.
"Of course I will miss working with Alec, but at the same time, nothing is really going to change too much, other than not working so closely together," she said.
"It has been an amazing miracle after working so closely together for over a year, our characters told each other they loved each other before we did in real life. It has been pretty intense that way, but now absence makes the heart grow fonder."
Nawww, they are too sweet.
Demi plans to take a bit of time off before heading for the bright lights of Hollywood… lucky for her, she's got an American passport because her dad is from the US.
The Brisbane-born star adds that she won't be ashamed of her getting her big break on H&A, unlike other ex-stars who'd prefer for it to be forgotten.
"I can't believe those people," she said. "I honestly don't understand, it is an opportunity of a lifetime. I will forever be grateful."
All the best for the future, Demi.
