Can you hear the screams? UK boy band sensation One Direction have hit Australia for the first time but the poor dears just sound like they need a day off.
"Directioners" camped overnight at Sydney Airport hoping to catch their first glimpse of the lads, only to be left in tears yesterday as the band was ushered out the back door, VIP-style.
"All we wanted was to see them, we weren't going to attack them or anything," said 17-year-old fan Elyssa Hanis.
"I can't believe they snuck out. They talked to fans at New York and LA airports."

The boys must have some serious jetlag it's only been a matter of hours since they made their debut appearance on Saturday Night Live. And by all accounts, it didn't suck! Check out their comedy chops and a snippet of their performance of 'What Makes You Beautiful' here:
One Direction have a hectic schedule of interviews and TV appearances during their short time Down Under even TheFIX is having trouble getting some one-on-one time with the swoonsome fivesome!
Smouldering One Direction dude Zayn Malik must have heard our 1D-deprived cries (and enraged screams of all those girls at the airport, of course). Upon checking into his hotel room, the 19-year-old dreamboat greeted fans from his hotel window shirtless. Swoon!
The boys are set to perform at The Logies this weekend, with organisers "expecting the very worst" from the anticipated stampede of crazy fans.
"We are getting more security and more police," a spokesperson said yesterday.
"Our main priority surrounding the performance is the safety of those fans attending and the community surrounding the Crown precinct, as well as the boys themselves.
"We are totally across it. We have seen what this band has caused across the world they shut down streets in Paris when they appeared in-store recently."

Sadly, One Direction fans getting injured at gigs is a common thing. Thirty-five fans were injured during a show in the UK last December, and a US fan was hospitalised last month after a near-riot at a shopping mall appearance.
Two years ago, Sunrise's planned Justin Bieber performance had to be cancelled after the masses of excited tweens got out of control, with several kiddies treated for minor injuries and major Bieber Fever.
Fingers crossed Aussie Directioners are better behaved! Well, better behaved than Irish member Niall Horan, who was busted by TV choppers making a very rude gesture on live TV today:
