Taylor Swift's new music clip for her break-up song 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' is sending tongues wagging over the shrewd casting of a tall, dark and handsome bearded model who looks remarkably like her ex, Jake Gyllenhaal.
While the 22-year-old songstress won't confirm who exactly the song is about, she dropped a few hints in a recent interview with Good Morning America.
Describing an incident that happened in the recording studio while working on her upcoming album Red, Taylor said, "This guy walks in who is a friend of my exes, and starts talking about how he's heard we're going to get back together. And that was not the case".
"So I start telling them the story: break-up, get back together, break up, get back together just, ugh, the worst! And I picked up the guitar and [songwriter] Max [Martin] said, 'This is what we're writing.'"
Taylor, who is now getting cosy with Conor Kennedy, had a whirlwind two-month fling with Jake from October to December 2010, but they were seen spending time together up until February 2011. Before Jake, there was Joe Jonas, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer (the target of Taylor's scathing 'Dear John' track on her last album Speak Now).
'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together', the first single from her new album, contains lyrics like, "We hadn't seen each other in a month when you said you needed space. What?", and "And you will hide away and find your peace of mind with some indie record that's much cooler than mine."
