It's official: A Korean pop star is bigger than Bieber.
Just a few months ago, that would have sounded bizarre, but since Psy's insanely catchy 'Gangnam Style' went online in July, there has been no stopping the K-Pop phenomenon.
'Gangnam Style' has dethroned Justin Bieber's 'Baby' as the most-watched video in YouTube history, racking up a tidy 821 million YouTube streams and counting.
Poor Biebs has been left to languish at No.2 with more than 804 million streams.
"#GangnamStyle just became the most-watched video on YouTube!! #History," Psy tweeted at the weekend.
Psy's global smash previously set a YouTube record for the "most liked video" on the site. With 5.3 million "likes" and 323,000 "dislikes", that's no mean feat.
It's a victory for South Korean pop music, but also for age. At 18, Justin is old enough to be Psy's real-life baby (Psy is 34). Who's got the teenage girls in a tizz now?
Of course, both are managed by Scooter Braun the internet would actually explode if the pair collaborated.
It remains to be seen as to whether Psy will have a long-term mainstream pop career, or if he ends up a one-hit wonder (outside of his country he has released six albums there already). What do we think, people?
Psy seemed to be getting over "Gangnam fever" when we chatted to him recently ...
