Despite doctors once telling her she’d never be able to have a child, Peaches Geldof is pregnant again.
The daughter of musician and philanthropist Bob Geldof gave birth to first son Astala just months ago, and has announced she and husband Tom Cohen are expecting another little boy.
Nobody was more surprised than Peaches herself.
"I did have a momentary panic and go, 'Oh my god, we're going to have a one-year-old and a one-month-old! How will we cope?’” she said.
She seems to be coping well enough – she’s already decided to name her future son Phaedra.
According to Peaches, the name refers to a Greek mythological figure as well as a reference to the song ‘Some Velvet Morning’ by Lee Hazlewood.
After polycystic ovaries and major surgery left her chances of falling pregnant slim, Peaches has defied the odds a second time. She is three-and-a-half months along and was apparently craving sour sweets before she heard the good news – one of her tell-tale signs, she believes.
Peaches says hubby Tom has been a major support in calming her back-to-back pregnancy nerves.
“Tom was so supportive and relaxed [upon learning of her pregnancy], it banished my doubts and I started imagining the two boys growing up together as the best of friends,” she said.
”There are massive benefits to having two children so close together."
