Fresh with today's rumours she might not make it back for a second season of The X Factor USA, pop icon Britney Spears has today been thrust into the centre of a paternity hoax.
A man claiming to be her former brother-in-law Christopher Federline filed a lawsuit against Britney claiming that he fathered her eldest son, Sean Preston, and that Britney also stole his credit card (read the full allegations here).
The fraudster has since been identified as Jonathan Lee Riches, a man known for filing a series of phony lawsuits against celebrities.
Most recently, he claimed to be the uncle of Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting suspect Adam Lanza.
This is not the first time in recent months that deluded fans have made bizarre allegations, seeking high-profile defendants.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have had their fair share of false allegations and crazy lawsuits.
Remember when a random guy claimed to be Selena's dad and was suing Justin for stealing his credit card to buy a penis enlargement!?
When you’re as famous as some, a little bit of crazy just comes with the territory.
