Poor Reese Witherspoon has suffered enough public embarrassment after her arrest last week for disorderly conduct, alongside husband Jim Toth, who was arrested for DUI.
Now, the 37-year-old mum-of-three has appeared asleep at the wheel in an unfortunately timed UK mag cover for Red Magazine's June issue. To quote the great Alanis Morisette, "isn't it ironic ... don't cha think?"
Shot before the "do you know my name?" incident in Atlanta (see video below), Reese's cover paints a more composed picture of the star, who also appears in a black mini in a second version of the Red cover (full story on Red's website).
Reese gave the mag a couple of interesting nuggets about her life, our favourite quote being a lament about her seven-month-old son Tennessee "stealing" her brain (cue scary Invasion of the Body Snatchers image).
"Ever since I had the baby, I can’t remember anything. Serious, this child stole my brain," Reese told Red.
"I’m losing friendships over forgetting to get back to people. But you can’t keep up with everything."
"I've got a 13-year-old, a nine-year-old and a baby. It's like [a] CNN ticker tape running through my mind at all times [puts on robotic voice]: 'Where is Ava? She's okay. Good. Where is Deacon? He's okay. Good. Where is Tennessee? Is he okay? Yes. Great. Back to Ava'. It doesn’t stop."
We can just see "my child stole my brain" becoming a bumper sticker. Or at least an internet meme.
Reese, we still like you. But don't be afraid to let out that inner bad ghurrrl sometimes, okay?
